I love color contact lense. I probably tried all colors you can imagine, by different brands. One thing that I found was that although some colors look good on my eyes, others made me look fake or horrible. I learned the rules of choosing the best color lens for your eyes after a lot of trial-and-error.
First, it is important to know that you can choose between opaque and enhancement color contacts. Enhancements colors lenses change the color of your eyes or make them look brighter and more sparkly. These lenses are only recommended for people who have light eyes. These lenses are partially transparent which makes them look very natural.
Optically, however, you can change the color of your eyes completely. These lenses aren't transparent so they are great for dark eyes. Opaque contacts will not work if your natural color is brown. People with dark eyes can choose to wear one or both of these lenses depending on what effect they desire.

Most important rule is that color contact lenses block oxygen supply to your eyes more then clear prescription contacts. Actually, the color portion doesn't allow oxygen through. This means that for the health of your eyes you shouldn't wear your color lenses for longer then 6-8 hours a day. Also, you shouldn't lens town sleep in your color lenses.
